Photograph shows th eHotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston Community of the Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph, taken prior to September 1893. The RHSJ community is depicted in the rear of the hospital, with the camera facing Brock Street. The Superior, Sister Janet Macdonnell, stands at the centre. Visible in the background is the limestone Cooke's Presbyterian Church, built by the Irish contingent of the Free Church of Scotland. It became Cooke's United Church in 1925, now the site of the Chown Parking Garage.
